Elusive Triple Crown Brings Wide Range of Emotions

For 38 years, the Triple Crown gods have charmed me, vexed me, enthralled me, confounded me, and toyed with my emotions. They’re like a whimsical and capricious bunch of phantoms, sometimes showing up when I don’t expect them and other times failing to appear when the champagne is on ice and I’m waiting to toast them.
